Plans for March!

I haven't done one of these posts in a few months, but I thought I would this month as I actually have the next few weekends booked up.

9th March

Next weekend I am going to Essex to visit my dad and sister. It will be the first time my dad meets my boyfriend so I am a bit nervous about it but also excited as I haven't seen my sister in ages! We are staying a couple of nights and going back home on Sunday.

17th March

The weekend after we are going visiting again, this time to my boyfriend's parent's new house.

18th March

We will be coming back on the Sunday in time to celebrate Mother's Day with my mum and nan. It is my third Mother's Day as a mummy if you count the year I was pregnant (my second if you don't). I love being a mum so this is a special day for me. I also want to show how much I appreciate my own mum and everything she does for me.

23rd March

Me and Katie just after I had Cameron

My friend Katie was due to come and visit the first weekend of March but wasn't able to because of work so we are hoping she will be able to come this weekend instead. I don't see her often, but when I do we always have a great catch up and eat lots of yummy food.

27th March

My best friend's due date is today, but we think she will have the baby early. I am so excited for her and even more excited to find out the sex of the baby as she didn't find out (my guess is a girl).

31st March

I am going to Cornwall for a week with my family which will be nice. I am hoping to just be able to relax and have a nice time. I have been on holiday to Cornwall a lot in the past and it is a lovely place to stay.

Do you have exciting plans for March?

Back on the Health Kick

If you have been reading my blog since the beginning, you may remember that my first posts followed my healthy eating plan which saw me lose my baby weight and more in time for Cameron's Christening in April 2011. Since then I lost a further half a stone and toned up through regular exercise. However, since moving house last month, I have been under quite a bit of stress and my weight has creeped back up.

I am by no means overweight, but neither do I want to be. So as of tomorrow, I will be going back on the healthy eating wagon. My treat day really helped me last time, so I will be using this again. Basically, I will eat very healthily throughout the week, also decreasing portion size for the evening meal, and then on either a Friday or a Saturday I can eat anything bad I have been craving that week whether it is a takeaway curry, a big bag of doritoes or a bar of chocolate (or all three, it has been known to happen).

Wish me luck!

Project 365 #47 My Sober Night Out

I haven't had an alcoholic drink now for three weeks but had a strong urge to go out this weekend so, when my boyfriend said we had been invited out for birthday drinks I decided to go but not to drink. I used to go out and stay sober a lot when I was younger but haven't recently so it was quite a strange experience.

Once everyone else got a bit drunk I found it easier to loosen up. I am quite shy usually with people I don't know that well, but I managed to soak up some of their tipsyness and actually had a really good night!

We ended up in a karaoke bar which was hilarious! A subway on the way home completed a great night, and I don't have to suffer with a hangover today, bonus!

Growing Up AKA Becoming a Mummy

When I started this Blog I decided on its name because I wanted to write about the huge change in my life I had gone through becoming a mum. Motherhood is something that you cannot prepare for. No amount of baby books and antenatal classes can get you ready for the change you will experience when you hold that baby in your arms for the first time and they look into your eyes.

The moment I met my little man and my life changed forever

For some, admittedly, the transition is bigger. If, like myself, your pregnancy was unplanned and you had been used to a totally different lifestyle, it might seem like your whole world has been tipped on its axis. For me, I had got my crazy partying days out of the way back when I was eighteen, but I was on my placement year at University. I was working part time and had just come out of a six month relationship which had gotten serious very fast, with a whole lot of drama due to a big age difference and him living in London. I was in a weird place and drinking and eating too much, not getting enough sleep and not really knowing who my real friends were.

A few months before I fell pregnant

Falling pregnant was probably the best thing that could ever have happened to me. If I had not have found out I was pregnant and been forced to start taking care of myself and making sensible plans for the future, then I would have probably ended up back with my toxic ex boyfriend and wasting my time away. Instead, I was eating properly for the first time in years, spending quality time with my best friend and my mum, and preparing for my final year of University, more determined than ever to graduate and make something of myself.

With my mum at her graduation when I was 7 months pregnant

When I had Cameron in September 2010, I was a much stronger person and, although as I say motherhood is not easy to get used to, I have really enjoyed learning how to be the best mum I can be to Cameron. Every day I learn something new from him. He is amazing and makes me re-evaluate my way of thinking. Before he was born I would think nothing of going out and drinking or walking alone to my car, but these days I am much more streetwise because I know that there is someone depending on me. He makes my world complete.

My gorgeous little boy

I have also managed to lose weight since having Cameron, I am a stone and a half lighter than before I was pregnant and so much healthier. I eat more sensibly and recently stopped drinking totally. I still like to take care of myself but have to be more creative with my time. I can put on makeup in record time, and can make my hair last four days without washing it if necessary (dry shampoo and curling my hair really help)! I don't spend much money on myself anymore so make sure when I do treat myself I get something I really want and will use again and again.

I like to take care of my appearance still, it's part of who I am

I like being a 'yummy mummy', but being Cameron's mummy is the most important thing to me and the most important job I will ever have. My aim is to make him proud of his mummy and I work at it everyday.

Project 365 #46 Pizza Hut Feast

Last night I saw a pizza ad on tv and knew I had to have some so this afternoon my boyfriend came over straight from work and we ordered pizza hut. We ended up ordering a large pizza each as well as nachos as we had a 2 for 1 voucher. I felt very greedy after eating so much pizza, and had a definite food baby going on this evening!!

Cameron the Big Brother!

My nan is moving in a few weeks so me and my mum had to go and get all the stuff we had been storing in her garage the last few years. One of the things was a baby doll which Cameron absolutely loves. He gives the baby a kiss and a hug and today he even brought me his nappies and wipes and made me 'change' the baby's bottom! He will make a brilliant big brother!

Tour of My House Part 2: Cameron's Room and the Bathroom

So, as promised (all that time ago, sorry!) here is some of my new house for you to see...

Mini Shopping Haul

I have been very good and haven't been shopping anywhere near as much as I used to before moving house. However, I have started saving up money to spend on my Spring/Summer wardrobe and today, as I was in town and the sunny weather was making me realise how little summery clothes I have now, I decided to pop into New Look. I bought this lovely white t-shirt and yet another of their cardigans, this time in a lovely coral colour. On my way to the till I also saw a really nice pair of pink and purple sunglasses and had to have them (my current glasses are big tacky white heart ones!). I also went into H&M but just got another of their lipglosses, this time in a pale pink shade. Very girly and summer, love my haul!

Whilst out, I also took a detour into Boots as they have their baby event on. I didn't really need any baby products but I saw this toddler training seat and bought it as Cameron doesn't understand the concept of his potty but tries to use the toilet like I do!

Project 365 #45 Summer Loving

Today was spent mostly at the beach as it was so warm and sunny out.

Cameron decided he wanted to walk the whole way along the beach pushing the pram which meant a very long walk.....

After we had been at the beach for about an hour, we walked through the gardens into town and I did a bit of shopping as Cameron was back in his pram and fast asleep.

Project 365 #44 Healthy Eating

After eating quite a few bad things lately I thought I would be a bit healthier and yesterday for lunch I had tuna and beans on a jacket potato. It was actually very yummy!
