Project 365 #15 Mother and Son Time

It's been manic but this afternoon I managed a bit of shopping (first time I braved it without a pram) and Cameron got to ride with Bob the Builder!

Project 365 #14 Moving Day

Today was one of the most stressful ever but I managed to move all of my stuff across to the new house and will be moving in officially tomorrow! So tired! I had a yummy takeaway pizza with the boyfriend tonight after a long, long day...

Project 365 #13 Sunday Lunch

Today was one of my school friend's son's Christening. Once we had got back home I cooked Sunday dinner. It was really nice to have one last proper meal over my mum's flat before the move tomorrow.

Project 365 #12 New Handbag

I bought myself a gorgeous handbag from River Island a few weeks ago but hadn't even taken it out of the carrier bag until today. I'm taking it out on it's first trip when I go shopping for lightbulbs (fun, fun)... What do you think?

Project 365 #11 Chocolate Fix

As you know, I'm about to move house and things are a bit stressful... This gave me the perfect excuse to sample the latest creation from Dairy Milk- the bubbly bar. My expectations were high, I mean, Aero is yummy! However, I just didn't really love this chocolate. It was too hard on the outside, not bubbly enough on the inside and just seemed a bit bland in taste. Still, chocolate is chocolate, and it definitely helped a bit! Have you tried the new chocolate? What did you think?

Diary Entry: A Moving Update...

Sorry the blogging has been a bit slow lately but things around here have been so stressful! I try not to let things get me worked up but it's hard as I have a tendency to panic at the slightest problem...

Basically, due to paperwork etc we were waiting to find out whether we would definitely be getting the house we had put a big deposit down on until Wednesday this week, which was only five days before the moving date. Because nothing was certain, I kind of stopped doing anything and wouldn't make any arrangements because I didn't want to have to then go back and change plans if it were to fall through.

Once we heard we would definitely be getting the keys on Monday I suddenly panicked as nothing was really ready. Hence the last couple of days being manic as I rushed around packing the rest of my flat up and sorting out the necessary forms I need to fill in. Luckily I am pretty good at organisation and so everything is now planned to within an inch of its life right up until next weekend.

This weekend is going to be pretty hectic as I will be cleaning my flat from top to bottom, replacing any lightbulbs etc and then helping my mum pack up her flat as well. Amongst this, I have a Christening to attend on Sunday which I am looking forward to as it's my friend from school's son. It will definitely get me away from the stress of everything for a bit and I am looking forward to catching up with my friends.

Monday is going to be a nightmare day I think as we don't get the keys until 2pm and then it will be a mad rush to move as much as possible in two small cars before it gets dark. Once my boyfriend finishes at work he is borrowing the work van and will be helping move some of the bigger, heavier stuff across and then on Tuesday I will be moving myself and Cameron into the house (after vacating the flat). My mum and brother won't be moving in until Friday as she works during the week, but we plan to have a slow move of her stuff throughout the week to make things less stressful.

Friday will be good as everyone will be moved across and we will be having Virgin installed so I will have the internet up and running and will hopefully be able to blog more and show you the guided tour of the new house! As you can probably tell, as well as being stressed, I am also pretty excited. It will be nice to be back in a proper house. I don't like living in flats as I hate hearing other people walking around (and seemingly running backwards and forwards constantly like the people above me at the moment).

It will be nice to be a joint tenant with my mum as well. I know a lot of people don't get on with their mum, but mine is more like my friend and I love how close she is with Cameron. It isn't a permanent arrangement, but something that will make things a whole lot less stressful this year.

Other than the big move, all that has really been happening in my world is finding a spare few minutes to read the Shopoholic series (usually late at night when Cameron is asleep and my overactive mind can relax a little). I finished the first book (watch out for a review) and had to buy the second as I was addicted! I think I will be joining the local library to my new house in order to read the rest as, at £8 a book, it is an expensive habit to have...

Hope all my readers are well and less stressed than myself! Have a great weekend!

Project 365 #9 Packing Continues...

Today we got confirmation finally that we will be moving into the new house on Monday! Exciting! However, it also means that I now have to get a move on and finish packing which I spent the whole afternoon doing... This is Cameron, helping... haha...

Like

This week I am liking YouTube! After finally making my own channel on the site and posting up my first two vlogs, I have also been enjoying watching my cousin and his work friends in their parody of LMFAO'S Sexy and I Know It as well as my exercise class's promo video which I feature in.

Love

I am loving TV at the moment, which is a bit awkward when the things I want to watch are the kind of things my boyfriend hates meaning I am doing a lot of catch up tv.... Desperate Housewives is back in its last season, One Born Every Minute is constantly making me broody and Don't Tell the Bride is bringing out the wedding planner in me. This Sunday also sees the return of TOWIE. There has been a lot of bitching about this series as many of the familiar faces have been sensatitionally axed or left to pursue other projects (ie reality TV shows such as I'm a Celebrity, Celeb BB). I am giving it the benefit of the doubt as a loyal fan. Besides, I always hated Mark Wright anyway.

Loathe

I absolutely hate people who think they are better than you. I am not mentioning any names as you never know who reads these posts, but basically somebody linked to my moving situation has been really annoying me. I also hate estate agents generally. Sorry if you are one, but seriously, the ones I have come across have all just been about the money, up themselves and rude.

OOTW Cute but Casual

Today my hair just wasn't going the way I wanted so I ended up curling it and pinning it up. I added a headband and it made me feel quite girly so I decided to wear my Marilyn Monroe t shirt, trusty skinny jeans and a black cardigan. I love it. It's casual but has a bit of a girly cute edge to it.

10 Day Life Experience Challenge: Day 04. The most heartbroken you have been, tell the story.

I think the most heartbroken I have ever been was when I found out I had been cheated on in my first relationship. It happened a few times, in fact, and never got any easier to deal with. To find out that the person you loved and trusted over anyone else had betrayed you is the worst feeling. Anyone who has been cheated on can relate to me and understand what I am speaking about.

The worst feeling for me was not that my boyfriend had done sexual things with another girl (a friend of mine in fact, nice girl), but that other people knew about it before I did. I felt as if they had all been laughing at me behind my back and I just found that hard to cope with.

Don't ask me why I kept going back to a guy who clearly didn't care about me. I was young, naieve and wanted things to work out. Looking back I can see how silly we both were to keep trying to make it work. If someone cheats it is ultimately because there is something wrong with the relationship you are currently in. Harsh but true.

I don't mind that I have been heartbroken in the past as it has taught me valuable lessons. The trick is to not let the past haunt you and cause you to mistrust future boyfriends, something that has also happened to me in relationships since. I love this saying:

You have to take the good with the bad.
Smile with the sad. love what you got
And remember what you once had
Always forgive, but never forget
Learn from mistakes, but never regret
People change, things go wrong
Just remember... life goes on...

Project 365 #9 Food Obsession

I really struggle with lunch as a meal as I pretty much hate all typical lunchtime options. I don't really like bread and have hated ham since pregnancy as well as most other sandwich fillings. I tend to go through phases and at the moment it's pasta salad from sainsburys. The good thing is that Cameron loves it too so we can share. The bad thing is the cost per day and that it means going to sainsburys to get it rather than having something at home. Today as I was out and about anyway I decided to get it, yum!

Project 365 #8 night in with the boyfriend

Tonight I am knackered after a really intense workout at class. It was filmed as well so I was nervous about what I looked like! I'm having a nice relaxed night in with the boyfriend. I cooked us chicken pasta and we are watching some tv...

Project 365 #7

Tonight is going to be a lazy one. Just been blogging and vlogging and now having cuddles with Cameron before he goes to bed and I can chill out in front of the tv- desperate housewives tonight!

Yummy Mummy on YouTube!

Yummy Mummy on YouTube!

Yes, I have decided to make the move onto YouTube for my vlogging. I have watched videos and listened to music on the website for years but have never uploaded my own videos before. My channel can be found here.

So far I have just added my two vlogs but I will be hopefully uploading more videos in the near future once I get the hang of it! Watch this space!

10 Day Life Experiences Challenge: Day 03. Worst injury you got, and how you got it.

The worst injury I have got so far was probably when I fell over and very badly grazed my knees just a few days before my mum's second marriage when I was 5.

I have never broken any bones so this is probably the worst injury. It was pretty painful at the time, but it also meant I was hobbling around at the wedding and in pain for most of the day, which wasn't great.

Project 365 #6 Pretty Fairy Cakes

This afternoon whilst my boyfriend was at the gym I decided to do a bit of baking. Cameron had his afternoon nap and I got on with making lots of fairy cakes.

I decorated them with pink and blue icing and lots of sprinkles, hearts and glimmer sugar- very girly! I made sure I made some boy friendly ones as well...

Product Review: 17 Photo Flawless Skin Primer

I recently posted a beauty wishlist and said that I would most probably break my spending ban to buy the 17 primer, and a few days later I did.... I hadn't bought a new primer since my last one (maybelleine) had run out before Christmas so I was in need of one....

What they say:

"17 Photo Flawless Primer helps you achieve picture perfect preparation"

What I say:

This is my new favourite primer. Maybelleine's primer is good but at double the price, I won't be going back to it now. The primer says that it helps foundation stay put for longer but I haven't noticed it staying any longer than when I wasn't using a primer to be honest. However, it does make my skin so much smoother which allows for a better application of makeup, as well as making my pores look smaller and my skin overall look smoother.

The primer comes out a little watery at first but once I had rubbed the tube between my palms to warm it up a bit it came out nice and thick and I only needed a pea sized amount for my face.

I am really happy with this product, and for under a fiver I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a primer which won't break the bank.

Vlog #2: My Favourite Beauty Products

I decided to brave the webcam again and have filmed a second vlog, this time talking you through my favourite beauty products. I would love it if you could take a look and give me some feedback. I am aware that I say 'like' a lot more than is necessary.....

What would you like me to vlog about next time? Let me know on the poll!

In Love with Pinterest

I joined Pinterest ages ago when I was still thinking of doing wedding planning as a career. I loved how simple it was to find inspirational images and ideas and upload them to a 'virtual pinboard'. I forgot about the site until today when I saw someone mention it and I decided to go back onto it.

Wanting to get more into the beauty side of things I started with a hair and beauty pin board. This is some of what I have on it so far.....

I also started adding to a board I have called Everything Emma which I am going to use for ideas for modelling shoots and poses.

I have fallen in love with Pinterest! Are you on there? Find me here.

10 Day Life Experiences Challenge: Day 02. Who has made the biggest impact in your life, and why?

I would say that obviously Cameron has been the person to make the biggest impact on my life.

Before I fell pregnant I had been a bit lost, going from one bad relationship to the next and drinking and eating too much.

Me a few months before I became pregnant

Being pregnant and on my own, although stressful, made me so much stronger as a person. It made me reassess what was important to me and made me realise I didn't have to be with someone. I had Cameron alone and stayed single up until he was 13 months old when I met my boyfriend.

With my boyfriend and Cameron a couple of months ago

Being a single mum was never something I had planned but I have such a great relationship with my son and I wouldn't change that for the world. Cameron has made everything worthwhile, everything more important. Having him has made me a better person. I am fascinated by every milestone he reaches, everything he does makes me proud. He is everything to me.

My Hair Care

I have done a couple of posts on my makeup that I use and my skincare products, but I have yet to do one on the hair products I use. I am slowly growing my hair back longer again and it is important I really take care of it when I wash it. I wash it every two to three days as if I wash it more frequently it gets greasier faster!

My Hair at the moment:

I use Aussie shampoo and conditioners......

Shampoo for coloured hair

Conditioner for heat treated hair

......and then finish off with an intensive conditioner also from their range which I leave on for at least three minutes.

Intensive treatment for heat treated hair

After washing my hair I squeeze the excess water off and then wrap it in a towel and leave it for about half an hour before taking the towel off and leaving it to dry naturally for around an hour (less if I am in a rush). I then blowdry my still slightly damp (it's really thick! m) hair using my hairdryer and barrel brush.....

....and I finish off by running my GHDs through my (naturally quite straight) hair, curling it slightly under at the bottoms to keep my grown out bob style.

On the days I don't wash my hair I usually just use a small amount of dry shampoo and brush it through.

I don't use straightners on days I don't wash my hair as, like I say, my hair is pretty much straight naturally.
