Where in the World...

I love going on holiday. Unfortunately working full time with two young children this isn't that easy. But a girl can dream...

These are the top ten holiday destinations I would love to be jetting off to:

1. Santorini

Greek islands in general look pretty lovely but there's something about Santorini which just makes it look so bloody gorgeous I want to be there right this second. When I feel low I look at beautiful pictures of this place. I will go there very soon!

2. New York

I have wanted to go here for a few years now and haven't managed to yet. I want to go just before Christmas, as it looks even more magical and amazing then. The only problem is, this is when it's A. really, really expensive and B. totally busy.

3. Antigua

Ever since I watched Pirates of the Caribbean I have wanted to go here. It looks beautiful but oh so expensive and far, far away!

4. The Maldives

Another beautiful location and somewhere I MUST go to before I die. It is true paradise.

5. Canada

Technically I've been here before but it is somewhere I would love to go to again. I would like to explore more as well as so far I have only been to Vancouver Island where my aunt and uncle live. Totally amazing place.

6. Italy

I am not specific, I just really want to go to Italy. Any part. It just looks cool.

7. L.A

My mum's cousin lives here and I love how it looks. I have been told I wouldn't like it there but I think I would. Although maybe this is a feeling I got from watching too many chick flicks....

8. Egypt

No real explanation other than it looks amazing and I might finally get to ride my camel I've been wanting to ride!

9. Lapland

I want to take the children to meet Santa (and I totally want to meet him too!). Looks so cold but such a truly wonderful experience!

10. Mexico

I love Mexican food. This is the home of Mexican food. I could fall in love with this place a little!

This Week I.... Went to the Seaside!

Yes, I know I live right by the sea so this might not seem surprising, but at the beginning of the week I went to a couple of different seasides for a mini break with my mum, my nan and Cameron. We went to Brighton on Sunday where we met up with one of my best friends who is also pregnant. As she lives in Brighton I haven't seen her for quite a long time so it was nice to catch up. We went to the park across the road from our hotel and had a nice lunch and played with Cameron in the swing park.

In the early evening we went to the seafront and walked along the pier before going for dinner at the Harvester by the beach.

In the morning we went to Eastbourne where we were staying the second night. We met up with my aunt and some of my cousins and had a picnic in the park. Cameron got to play with his second cousin Spencer who he adores, they are so cute together!

We went back to the hotel and ended up having takeaway pizza for dinner. In the morning we went for a cooked breakfast at Toby Carvery before driving home, so yummy!

It was a lovely couple of days away and made the week go a bit quicker too, bonus!

Our Summer Holiday

Last weekend my mum, Cameron and I travelled to Paris for a little holiday. Originally I was planning on going to Spain, but in the end I decided to spend the same amount of money and go to Disneyland!

It was an early start as the eurostar left at 7am and we had to get into London, but it was worth the effort, and the totally sore feet and bump I got from a day of sightseeing on the Friday.

We walked to see the Sacre Coeur, the Louvre, caught sight of the Eiffel Tour and Notre Dame, and we walked along the Seine where there was a fake 'beach' event.

Getting back to our hotel that night we were exhausted, but up early again to get our coach transfer to Disney. Some people had said to me that I was silly taking Cameron to Disney when he is so young still as he wouldn't appreciate it, but I don't think this was the case. Sure, older children might be able to understand the characters and rides more, but Cameron could still get excited by the atmosphere.

My happy place!

As I am pregnant, we already knew there would be some rides I wouldn't be allowed on, and most of them I wasn't even bothered about as I don't like big rollercoaster rides usually. The only ride I was a bit upset about was Pirates of the Caribbean as it's my favourite one. I would never risk the health of me or my baby for a ride however, but my mum took Cameron on it.

Favourite Ride, not allowed to go on :(

Big mistake! He got a bit scared of the dark bits and ended up being sick on my mum!

After doing so many miles of walking the day before, I was in agony walking around so ended up hiring a wheelchair. I was given a disability pass which allowed me to skip some of the queues, it turned out that I wasn't allowed on more rides than originally thought however, so we didn't go on that many things.

It was a great day though and I loved shopping for gifts for family in the many pretty shops around the park and in Disney Village.

Cameron had a good time and we got lots of pictures taken around the parks.

Our train back to London wasn't until the afternoon so on the Sunday we ended up having lunch in the sunshine before going home again.

We managed to pack quite a lot into such a short time away but it was definitely worth it.

How Hard Can Getting a Child's Passport Be?

The answer? Near impossible apparently! Yesterday I was searching holidays to Spain on a spur of the moment 'I need a summer holiday before I can't fly' moment. I found a great deal and started lusting over the sunny blue skies and perfect pools of the Costa del Sol when I suddenly remembered the forms upstairs in my bedroom drawer that I never filled in.

Cameron has no passport....

So started the epic mission that is getting a child's first passport. First I had to check with his dad that he would let me take him out of the country, then I had to get all of his information and fill in the lengthy and confusing form which for some reason also insists that I provide the information of both sets of grandparents and their marriage dates (what decade are we living in?!) before I could even get to the task of having his photos taken.

This of course was when the real stress began.

Have you ever tried taking a toddlers photo in a photobooth when you are four months pregnant, hot, sweaty and stressed? It is not fun. Even less fun when your son manages to look away from the camera for every shot meaning you spend £10 to get one shot right.... Then after this nightmare you get informed by the snooty cow behind the post offfice screen that the passport will definitely not get accepted with a photo that is 'the wrong size'. How can it be the wrong size? I took it in a passport photobooth for Christ's sake! Apparently children under five should be photographed by a professional photographer....

So off I go to find one of these, by which time I am more than stressed, almost at the point of tears in fact. Cameron then decides to have a huge tantrum and hysterical crying fit when placed in front of the camera. With time running out and even the bribe of chocolate buttons not having the desired effect, I thought all hope was gone but somehow he managed to stand on his own for just long enough to produce a suitable photo, albeit of a snotty, red faced child who barely resembles my usually cheerful son...

I went to collect the photos this morning and am crossing my fingers and toes that they will accept this photo. I cannot face going through this impossible mission again.... It's times like these I wish I wasn't on a wine ban!

My Easter Update!

Yes, I know. I am an awful blogger....

I honestly don't know if I will be back to blogging reguarly just yet or not but I will fill you in on a few things that have been going on in my World.

I had a fantastic holiday in Cornwall last week. I went with my nan, my mum and Cameron and we all really needed the break away. The weather wasn't amazing (why could we not have had the weather from the week before with the heatwave and sunny cloudless days?!) but it was still nice to have a change of scenery and Cameron had an amazing time as we went to lots of kid orientated places. I also managed to relax away from the stresses I was facing back home and it really helped put everything into perspective and I felt so much better for the time away. Cornwall is a lovely place and I really enjoyed my holiday. It may not be somewhere exotic, but it is fine by me.

Cameron loved playing in the cars

and on the kiddy theme park rides!

Since getting back on Saturday afternoon I have been a busy bee. I went straight round to my cousin's new flat to have a look and I am very jealous as it is so nice! I wasn't feeling to great by the evening but a curry and cuddles with the boyfriend, who I had missed whilst being away, in front of Take Me Out was a fantastic cure! Sunday was spent vegging out and stuffing myself with chocolate as it was Easter and I wasn't feeling very happy.

On Monday my friend Katie came to stay for a few days and we did a bit of shopping and a lot of DVD watching as the weather was so rubbish (last night it hailed so heavily it actually settled and looked like snow!). We went out for dinner with my friends from school last night which was really nice and we had a great time. It was good to catch up with everyone. Katie went home this morning and I am having a lazy day whilst Cameron is with his dad. This afternoon will be spent food shopping as my mum and I are finally having a bit of a housewarming Friday night now everything is sorted with the house.

Oh, and my best friend had her baby, a boy called Max who is so gorgeous!

I hope everyone has had a great Easter and you don't feel too stuffed with chocolate!

Hope to be back blogging reguarly very soon, thanks for sticking with me!

Plans for March!

I haven't done one of these posts in a few months, but I thought I would this month as I actually have the next few weekends booked up.

9th March

Next weekend I am going to Essex to visit my dad and sister. It will be the first time my dad meets my boyfriend so I am a bit nervous about it but also excited as I haven't seen my sister in ages! We are staying a couple of nights and going back home on Sunday.

17th March

The weekend after we are going visiting again, this time to my boyfriend's parent's new house.

18th March

We will be coming back on the Sunday in time to celebrate Mother's Day with my mum and nan. It is my third Mother's Day as a mummy if you count the year I was pregnant (my second if you don't). I love being a mum so this is a special day for me. I also want to show how much I appreciate my own mum and everything she does for me.

23rd March

Me and Katie just after I had Cameron

My friend Katie was due to come and visit the first weekend of March but wasn't able to because of work so we are hoping she will be able to come this weekend instead. I don't see her often, but when I do we always have a great catch up and eat lots of yummy food.

27th March

My best friend's due date is today, but we think she will have the baby early. I am so excited for her and even more excited to find out the sex of the baby as she didn't find out (my guess is a girl).

31st March

I am going to Cornwall for a week with my family which will be nice. I am hoping to just be able to relax and have a nice time. I have been on holiday to Cornwall a lot in the past and it is a lovely place to stay.

Do you have exciting plans for March?
