Perfectly Pink Nails

My brother and his girlfriend gave me a belated birthday present at the weekend. A Nails Inc nail glitter in Pink Diamond. It is such a girly shade and I couldn't wait to try it out when I got home. I have used it over the top of a No7 shade in Me, Me, Me which is a bright pink colour and I love the result.

My nails have never looked so girly and they have definitely cheered me up on such a dull, gloomy bank holiday!

In Love with Pinterest

I joined Pinterest ages ago when I was still thinking of doing wedding planning as a career. I loved how simple it was to find inspirational images and ideas and upload them to a 'virtual pinboard'. I forgot about the site until today when I saw someone mention it and I decided to go back onto it.

Wanting to get more into the beauty side of things I started with a hair and beauty pin board. This is some of what I have on it so far.....

I also started adding to a board I have called Everything Emma which I am going to use for ideas for modelling shoots and poses.

I have fallen in love with Pinterest! Are you on there? Find me here.

This is easy as I love the nail varnish I got in my latest copy of Glamour magazine. You can see my post here. This is it on:

Love it!

30 Day Beauty Blog Challenge: Day 29 — Photo of a makeup look you would love to try out

Recently I unearthed my Frontcover makeup set I bought myself in the Boots sale all the way back in January.

I am looking forward to being a bit more daring with my eye makeup, especially over Christmas with parties and nights out planned. Definitely recommend putting one of these sets on your Christmas wishlist, they all look stunning!

30 Day Beauty Blog Challenge: Day 28 — Top beauty item you can't live without

Simple Facial Wipes

These wipes are by far the most important beauty item to me. I wear makeup on a daily basis, and although I do also use cleanser and toner, these are the inital removal system and work amazingly well. I have sensitive skin and sometimes face wipes will irritate my face and cause more harm than good. Not Simple. I love them and for anyone who has somehow yet to try them I would definitely recommend them!

30 Day Beauty Blog Challenge: Day 27 — Your favorite skincare product

At the moment, my favourite skincare product is something nice and cheap, nice and simple. When I went to replace my cleanser in Sainsbury's I also looked for a new toner and found this Garnier one which I really like:

It feels really fresh on my skin and was reduced, bargain!

30 Day Beauty Blog Challenge: Day 26 — An Item from your wishlist

I really love the look of Tattletell All from Benefit Makeup!

I have always loved Benefit and this kit contains miniatures of loads of my favourites, as well as a couple of ones I have yet to try- win, win, and definitely going on my Christmas Wishlist!

I covered this recently in another post so I will just give you the link here.

30 Day Beauty Blog Challenge: Day 23 — Your best bargain makeup item

It's got to be the MUA (Makeup Academy) range from Superdrug. This range has products that only cost £1 but are actually really good value for money. I love their nail varnishes, and eyeshadows and at £1 each I can actually get a full range of shades in both for less than a tenner, bargain!

Have you tried the range? Do you love it as well?

30 Day Beauty Blog Challenge: Day 22 — Your beauty tips for a big night out

As a mum, I don't often go on big nights out. When I get a night away from Cameron I am more likely to be found in front of a film or pampering myself than drinking in a bar. However, it means that when I do get out, I like to make that extra effort, especially when it comes to beauty and makeup.

In the morning or the night before I will wash my hair using a deep treatment shampoo, exfoliate and shave. About two hours before I am due to leave I will have a quick shower again (mainly to wash off anything Cameron has managed to smear on me!) and then moisturise all over and fake tan. I use St Moriz as I absolutely love it and it is so so cheap!

I get dressed, often in a short dress as my legs are my best part (my boobs are tiny!).

My favourite going out dress is bright pink and one shouldered, that I won off of Rachel's blog competition.

After I am dressed I will apply my makeup. For a night out I usually up the ante a bit and go for smokey eyes and false eyelashes. I apply all of my makeup first and then add the false lashes, before adding more mascara and eye makeup to cover up the joins!

Finally, I will spritz myself in lots of perfume and a glimmer spray such as Soap and Glory's Easy Glistening Dry Body Oil. It gives my legs a sexy sheen.

Just before I leave I will add my sky high heels and a final slick of lip gloss and I am good to go!

30 Day Beauty Blog Challenge: Day 21 — Your favorite lipstick

I don't really wear lipstick as it feels like an older woman thing to do in my mind. When I do it is a deep red Rimmel one. I prefer lipgloss and this is my current favourite:

Royal Gloss Lipgloss
(I wear shade Moreish)

30 Day Beauty Blog Challenge: Day 20 — Your favorite mascara

This one is easy as I LOVE my mascara! It is Rimmel Volume Flash Mascara:

It's relatively cheap for a mascara (around £6 depending on the shop) but I have yet to find a better one. I usually apply a couple of coats, but with three I can achieve a false lash effect. Even though I have recently started wearing falsh lashes on nights out, I still use this over the top as it is just a great mascara. I would recommend it to anyone.

30 Day Beauty Blog Challenge: Day 19 — Your favorite look from a beauty expert

As I mentioned, I don't look to beauty experts as such, but something I defintely have been paying attention to lately is nail art. It seems everyone is jumping on the nail art band wagon. As a single mum, I don't really have the time or energy to be changing my nails every five minutes and I am way too impatient to really have a go at any of the latest crazes. I do love seeing tutorials on doing them however, and love these ones:

This was found, amongst many other designs, on Nailsmag.com here.

30 Day Beauty Blog Challenge: Day 18 — Your favourite beauty expert

I can't really think of anyone as a beauty expert. I will admit that although I enjoy using beauty products myself, I am not a 'follower' of beauty trends and so don't look up to anyone as such in that field. I am going to instead use this post to tell you where I go for beauty tips and tricks, and that is my favourite girly magazines: More! Company, Glamour and Cosmopolitan.

I read these ones whenever I can afford to buy them and often pull out pages to keep with my makeup and products. Recently I pulled out a section on how to do a proper blow dry at home and a feature on how to use eyeliner in several different styles.

I love how the magazines show you beauty tricks, and also let you know about new products coming out in the near future.

30 Day Beauty Blog Challenge: Day 16 — A celebrity whose fashion you don't like

I don't really like a lot of fashion, but one person who seems to look awful about 90% of the time is Taylor Momsen...

Goth makeup, bad extensions, simply weird footwear and tiny hemlines do not scream fashion icon to me...

30 Day Beauty Blog Challenge: Day 15 — Your favourite piece of jewellery

The ring you can see in this photo is my favourite ring ever, and I am gutted that a stone fell out and went missing a couple of days ago!

30 Day Beauty Blog Challenge: Day 14 — Photo of a hairstyle/haircut you'd like to have

I love my hair in a bob, but at the moment it has grown out and is in between styles. I have been trying to decide whether to have my bob cut back in next week when I have my hair done, or whether to start the growing it back long process. I think this is the next style I want to have:

It is a step in the right direction to growing my hair but still keeping some style to it. What do you think?

30 Day Beauty Blog Challenge: Day 13 — Photo of your fashion/style icon

At the moment this one is easy!

Lydia from The Only Way is Essex! I love what she wears and wish I could afford more clothes as I saw tonnes of stuff in her style today when I was out shopping!
