Run, Forest, Run!

You know when you have wake up and have a really good hair day and then you go for a morning run with your boyfriend and totally ruin it? That was me this morning. Well, at 5.30am, which can't even really be described as morning.

Forcing myself out of bed was so hard but so worth it. Last Wednesday he made me do a 10k. Which, no joke, almost killed me. I could barely walk for days! This time we did just under 6k, which was much more manageable, but still bloody tough!

I'm really proud of myself though, not just for actually getting up and exercising before work, but for managing to go the distance and train. I want to be able to run a 10k race at some point in the not so far future so running like this will really help make that more achievable.

I'm really grateful to Ed as well for pushing me, for not letting me stop when I moan at him that my chest hurts, I have cramp, my legs are tired, I can't breathe etc (although during our 10k when I actually couldn't properly breathe and had two panic attacks he was really supportive).

I gained a stone and a half in the past year and so far have managed to lose half a stone through healthy eating and exercise. My goal is to lose a further stone by my brother's wedding at the end of May, as I am maid of honour and want to be able to look nice in photos. Hopefully by keeping up my fitness and continuing to eat healthily my goal will be in reach!

P.S I have no photographic evidence of my run as I actually managed to detach my phone from my hand for once and left it behind to aid the running!

Just the Boost I Needed!!

Tonight I had butterflies in my stomach, my stress levels were through the roof and I was even considering backing out. Was I off on a date? No... I was off for my first ever group exercise class and I was extremely nervous! I hate exercise... and I am very shy... The two mixed together was a disaster waiting to happen, hence the reason I had not been to one class in my 22 years!

I got there ten minutes early and met a couple of other 'newbies', which put me at ease a bit and then the girl who runs the class arrived and she was so lovely I totally relaxed! You would not have guessed from meeting her that she would be a shouter(!) but I am glad she shouts as it means more motivation, and boy was I motivated!

I managed to keep up all the way through which is a miracle in itself as I am so unco-ordinated! It really felt like it was working and everyone worked up a big sweat which is always a good sign! The class is done to club music which I think really works as it makes it fun and energising. I was actually saying noooooooo inside my head when the class ended as I was so motivated and buzzing from the class!

I am definitely going back for my remainding five lessons and reckon I will carry it on after that as it has made me feel like my old self, pre-pregnancy, pre-mummy, just me. I loved having a little break from Cameron and meeting other mummies in the process, it was literally just what the doctor ordered, and I am pleased I bought the Groupon way back in June!

If you are from the Bournemouth area and a mummy then please take a look at the Work it Baby Facebook Page as I cannot recommend this class highly enough!

Getting Back on the Healthy Eating!

If you are regular readers you may remember that I lost all of my pregnancy weight plus half a stone more by eating healthily and having one treat day a week. I fell off the wagon, so to speak, a good few weeks ago and started eating utter rubbish on almost a daily basis. I have no appetite mostly so when I am hungry I eat all the wrong things. For awhile this was ok as I stayed the same weight, but in the last week I have slowly begun to gain a little back and it has given me the push I needed to get back on track with the healthy eating and fitness. I will get my flat tummy back!

I will be eating healthy again, with the treat day one day on the weekend. I am also starting a mummy fitness group tomorrow night which I bought from Groupon ages ago. I am very excited about it but also nervous as I hate going to exercise classes, especially when I am alone! I hope that going to a class will encourage me to keep up exercise in my spare time at home as well.

Are you crrently on a healthy eating or fitness plan? Are you coping well or struggling?
