Bridesmaids!

Ok, before I start, this isn't going to be a review as such, although I will say that the hype is all true! It is AMAZING! So, so funny... the whole audience was in hysterics most of the way through the film. There is one scene which made me want to leave the cinema, but only because I had just eaten a big meal in a rush and felt pretty sick... that is all I am going to say on that!

I went to see this film tonight, with my mum as my way of saying thanks for helping me get through the last year of my degree, to celebrate myself, and to have a bit of a break from it all for one night. We also went for a meal before the film in TGI Fridays, though it took ages for our food to come so we ended up eating it really fast and making ourselves feel a bit sick, not so great!

My meal!

Mummy :)

As soon as I started watching this film I totally related with the main character. Throughout the film I kept seeing myself in her and by the end, I had completely taken on board the message from the film and I am determined not to let men walk all over me anymore. Not all men are like that, obviously, but several men in my life are and I am not going to let it happen anymore, especially not one man in particular. I saw on the film what it looks like from the outside and it really helped me gain a new perspective. I hate to be so deep and everything about what is ultimately a very funny comedy, but I did relate and I am pleased that I have gained something so important from my night out.

This song from the film (spoiler in the video) sums up exactly what I am talking about:

The lyrics:

I know there is pain
Why do lock yourself up in these chains?
No one can change your life except for you
Don't ever let anyone step all over you
Just open your heart and your mind, mmm
Is it really fair to feel this way inside?

Chorus

Ooh some day somebody's gonna make you want to
Turn around and say goodbye
Until then baby are you gonna let them
Hold you down and make you cry
Don't you know?
Don't you know things can change
Things'll go your way
If you hold on for one more day
Can you hold on for one more day
Things'll go your way
Hold on for one more day (one more day)

I would definitely recommend this film to anyone wanting a laugh. I worried that it would not live up to the huge hype, but it surpassed it! I loved it. Go see!
